Scenes from Ontario's Temagami region

July 10, 2023

Earthroots’ Executive Director, Barbara Steinhoff recently took a trip up to Ontario’s Temagami region to meet with Gord Miller, Earthroots Chair of Board and former Environmental Commissioner of Ontario. The two were able to explore and experience the beauty of the magnificent old-growth red and white pine forests with their own eyes.

Take a look at some of the photos that were captured during their time there in our 2023 Temagami photo series.

What we are doing for the Temagami

Through social and traditional media, we want to spread awareness about the importance of the old-growth forests in the Temagami region to individuals who may not be knowledgeable about the area and its ecological significance. By getting the public involved through this awareness campaign, we can push our governments to make good on many lapsed promises of protection and save these threatened areas before it’s too late.
