The forest industry may be allowed to bypass Ontario’s new Endangered Species Act

The provincial government is proposing to grant the forest industry a year long exemption from complying with the new Endangered Species Act (ESA). If this exemption is allowed, Ontario’s ESA (hailed as some of the best species legislation in North America) will be rendered ineffective; many of the province’s species, like the iconic Woodland Caribou and Eastern Wolf, will be pushed even closer to extinction.

We need your voice to send a strong message to the government - the public comment period ends June 16th, 2008.
