Ministry of Public Infrastructure Renewal HALIBURTON COUNTY - The Ontario government is taking the next step towards selecting a new operator for the Leslie M. Frost Centre, Minister of Public Infrastructure Renewal David Caplan announced today.
“The McGuinty government is on the side of families in rural Ontario and is committed to working with the people of Haliburton to find a new operator for the Leslie M. Frost Centre,” said Caplan. “The centre is an important community asset and I am pleased we are moving toward our goal of ensuring the centre’s environmental and outdoor education programs continue to be available to the public.” A Request for Qualifications (RFQ) process, which began December 28, 2005, sought qualified bidders to lease the main campus of the Frost Centre. One of the criteria was the proposed operator also be able to deliver environmental and outdoor education programs to the public as core activities.
The Ontario Realty Corporation is now inviting two qualified proponents – FCI Group and Friends of the Frost – to submit proposals to operate the centre.
Submissions for the final stage of the Request for Proposal (RFP) process are due August 11, 2006. The goal is to have a successful proponent operating the centre by the spring of 2007.
